National Media Platform Connects Hemp Community with Fall Trade Shows, Sets Sights on 2021, and Opens Doors to Retail and Dispensary Opportunities Nationwide.

Denver, CO (July xx, 2020) – Let’s Talk Hemp, a nationally renowned media platform, is excited to announce its latest endeavor to generate new opportunities for the hemp and CBD industries by co-producing the cannabis-themed RAD (Retail and Dispensary) Expo. Now in its fourth year, RAD Expo is a business-to-business cannabis event, taking place this fall at the Las Vegas Convention Center, October 6-7, 2020. Let’s Talk Hemp is partnering with RAD Expo for the first time and intends to bridge hemp, CBD, and cannabis together to market to retail and dispensaries.

A 100% B2B trade show, the expo will feature more than 300 retail-specific exhibitors and vendors in one setting. “Let’s Talk Hemp is proud to collaborate with RAD Expo. The in-person fall event sets the stage for the future of both industries and is a must-attend for hemp companies looking to expand their footprint in the cannabis market,” says Morris Beegle, Let’s Talk Hemp Media Co-founder and Producer of NoCo Hemp Expo and Southern Hemp Expo.

Safety First: RAD Social Distancing Measures

Let’s Talk Hemp, in conjunction with Marijuana Venture and Cannabis & Tech Today, will co-produce the in-person expo and they are working very closely with organizers and production and venue partners to enforce strict social distancing and safety measures for attendees, exhibitors, and vendors.

“We are taking extended measures to ensure our team, attendees, and community’s safety and wellness during this time. We’re fortunate to be working with some of the most experienced venue and event partners, such as the Las Vegas Convention Center; Freeman Event Management and our hotel partner, Sahara Cares,” said Greg James, founder of RAD Expo and Marijuana Venture.

The RAD Expo plans to implement the following COVID-19 precautions:

    • SOCIAL DISTANCING: Six-foot markers and spaces will be placed between exhibit booths, and time slots will be put in place at registration to control crowds.
    • PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: Attendees will be provided with sponsored cloth masks and hand sanitizer for their protection and the protection of those around them.
    • SANITATION: All registration devices and microphones will be wiped down after every use. Hygiene reminders will be placed with signage and notifications on the RAD Expo App. There will be additional designated sanitation sites stocked with hand sanitizer and disposable disinfectant wipes.

Beyond RAD + Save the Dates

HHW is a grassroots effort to recognize our historical connection to hemp, advocate for the full legalization of hemp farming, and introduce consumers to the wide variation of hemp products on the market and the benefits of choosing hemp over other alternatives.

With events that range from festivals to picnics to farm tours, there is something for everyone. And if you don’t see an event to your liking near you? Start your own! This is a grassroots campaign, after all, so anyone is welcome to register their own event on the Hemp History Week website.

There are many festivals and conferences planned for this week, including the inaugural Hawaii Hemp Conference in Hilo, Hawaii on June 10th. Hemp enthusiasts and entrepreneurs will come together for a weekend of work and fun focused on the burgeoning hemp industry in Hawaii.

As event producer, Morris Beegle said, “The opportunity to put together a local-centric hemp conference with a national and global perspective presented itself, and we jumped on it.  Hawaii, not unlike many other states, has a big need for a replacement crop that can help rejuvenate both the local economy and the environment.  There is no other agricultural crop on the planet that provides this opportunity to the extent that industrial hemp does today.  Hawaii has several good legislators who understand this, and who seem committed to doing the right thing for the people of Hawaii.  The timing couldn’t be better to push this across the finish line, not only for Hawaii but across the entire United States.”

While you are well aware that Hawaii is a vacation paradise, did you know it’s also a farming paradise? This makes it an ideal place to grow hemp and its new presence on the hemp farming landscape makes it the perfect place to celebrate Hemp History week.

Hawaii’s year-round warm weather allows for 3 harvests a year, unlike more temperate climates on the mainland that can only grow one. Its fertile volcanic soil has been harnessed for generations as the perfect medium for both small farms and large operations, such as the sugar cane plantations.

Now that the sugar plantations are gone, Hawaiians are working on restoring the ecological damage the plantations inflicted on the islands. Pesticide and herbicide – free hemp can help to  rejuvenate soils, and hemp grown for oil or food fits perfectly for traditional small-scale family farm operations.

At the government level many officials strongly support hemp production in Hawaii, in fact, three of the keynote speakers are state and federal-level officials, including Tulsi Gabbard from the US House of Representatives. Representative Gabbard strongly supports legalizing marijuana and industrial hemp farm and  is a co-sponsor of HB525 – The Industrial Hemp Farming Act bill.

Advocates and farmers alike have a lot of excitement for all the possibilities that the new hemp farming industry brings to the islands. You can be sure they will make a large contribution to the national conversation on hemp and will be a key player going forward.

For these reasons and much more, Hawaii is one of the most exciting places to be this Hemp History Week.

Hurry! Early bird tickets are on sale until May 26th. Visit the Hawaii Hemp Conference website to learn more and get your tickets!

The Hawaii Hemp Conference is produced by Colorado Hemp Company and  presented by  Functional Remedies, which cultivates organic hemp and a produces whole plant processed full spectrum hemp extracts.

NoCo Hemp Expo explores growing industry

From pet products to building materials, industry finding many uses for hemp

    By Aruka SanchirReporter-Herald Staff Writer

Clothing, food and pets all had one thing in common at the fourth annual NoCo Hemp Expo on a misty Saturday at the Ranch Events Complex in Loveland.

The two-day event started on Friday with an event designed for those involved in the hemp industry. Saturday’s event was open to the general public and featured panel talks, artists, demonstrations and more than 100 booths.

Lines of cars filled the muddy parking lot and over 4,500 attendees bustled around to a variety of activities centered around hemp at the events center. Demonstrations such as “Cooking Creatively With Hemp,” “Coffee Roasting and Infusion” and “Hemp Paper Making” occurred every hour for the public. Panelists aimed to inform attendees with talks such as “Hemp 101,” “Industrial Uses of Hemp,” “Essential Oils and Botanical Extracts” and more.

“I was interested in CBD (cannabidiol) oil and I’m getting a lot of information about it here. I think people are learning more at events like this,” said Loveland resident Pamela Thomas.

“There’s a lot of stigma attached to hemp, but I believe it’s going to save the world,” said attendee Chanin Tila.

Waves of attendees streamed in and out through the assortment of booths filled with information and samples. Attendees could try hemp oil derived from CBD at booths, such as THR Technologies and EnerHealth, focusing on health and wellness.

Cannabidiol (CBD) hemp oil contains very low levels of THC and therefore, is non-psychoactive.

“Give it a try because we live in an overwhelmingly stressful time right now. We need as much support as we can and that starts with what we put in our body,” said Michael Harinen, a spokesperson for Bluebird Botanicals.

Pets had a popular spotlight in the expo, with companies like RxCBD and Bark Avenue setting out samples of dog and cat treats infused with CBD. They attributed the anti-inflammatory benefits of CBD to helping animals, especially older pets, with anxiety and allergies.

“A lot of people tried traditional remedies and found that it didn’t help with their pet’s seizures or anxiety. They found that typically CBD does (help),” said RxCBD co-founder Debbie Cokes.

Before heading to the food trucks parked outside the venue, attendees sampled a variety of foods created with hemp seeds. Carla Boyd, founder of Hemp Way, served hamburgers with hemp hearts and all-natural ingredients. Ari Scherman, co-founder of Evo Hemp, spoke to attendees about the health benefits of the plant while passing out samples of granola bars.

“It’s the most nutrient dense product. Hemp seeds have a perfect array of minerals, as well as a lot of protein,” said Scherman.

Another booth attracting attendees was the Left Hand Hemp company, teaching people how to build with “hempcrete.” With a block of “hempcrete” and “Hemp Hurd” rocks at the booth, attendees could see firsthand the materials used by the company.

“It could be the No. 1 sustainable building material in the country because it will not burn and it’s mold and pest proof. There are no harmful chemicals in it,” said CEO Kelly Thornton.

Much like Left Hand Hemp’s goal, the conversations heard around the expo aimed to inform the public of the sustainability of the hemp plant.

“There are all types of applications for hemp,” said Neshama Abraham, founding Communications Director of the National Hemp Association, adding that all parts of the plant are usable for something. “To make a sustainable environment, buy hemp and enable farmers to make hemp. We want a sustainable planet and we’ve found a plant that’s going to help us to do that.”

Throughout the variety of activities and products at the event, the focus remained on the importance of growing hemp locally.

“We want to help people stay employed and keep the local economy growing. We’ve got the talent,” said Robbie Jaramillo, director of customer support of EnerHealth.

“It’s about revitalizing your community, whether it’s building material, medicine or cleaning products, growing locally is where it’s at. Anyone from the farmers to the end user is going to benefit,” said Dani Billings, president of Nature Roots Spa. “We have to educate people to live sustainably. Education is key.”

  • Road to NoCo Starts Now

    Road to NoCo Starts Now

    By Morris Beegle

Howdy folks, welcome to my first blog in a very long time. We’re putting the final touches on launching registration for the 4th annual NoCo Hemp Expo and I thought it would be a good time to reflect back on what has transpired since the beginning of April.  For those of you that attended NoCo3, you know it was pretty epic, and some might say Pure-Hemp-Epicness! One thing it was for sure, was an excellent gathering of smart, passionate, forward-thinking individuals who are out there fighting the good fight. The movement is alive and we are now in the final days of hemp and cannabis prohibition.  How the chips fall over the coming months and years is not for certain, but what we can say for sure is that prohibition as we’ve come to know it, is almost finished. And it’s our job, all of ours, to finish it. If we end up with a president Trump, disregard any and all predictions I make within this article. Prohibition will be the least of our worries.

Since NoCo3, all things hemp have kicked into overdrive for farmers, processors, entrepreneurs, associations and ancillary businesses entering into this exciting industry. People and companies are committing serious time, energy, and capital into building business relationships and infrastructure to grow. We have been gathering at industry-specific functions locally and nationally, working together state by state to pass meaningful legislation, all the while pushing Washington DC to pay a little bit of attention to our industry. We’ve had missteps along the way, we’ve had little victories and big victories, DEA, FDA and USDA interference to varying degrees, and we have more work to do.

Speaking of industry gatherings, this summer kicked off with a slew of Hemp History Week events followed up in July with the Science of Industrial Hemp Conference in Denver and Hemp On The Slope in Collbran, CO. August gave us The NoCo Hemp Village at the Arise Music Festival with Ziggy Marley, Jurassic 5, Papadosio and 100 other acts at one of the top-conscious festivals anywhere. If you’ve attended Arise you know what I’m talking about, and if you haven’t, you need to attend. This last week from September 18-20, the 23rd Annual Hemp Industries Association Conference came to Westminster, CO and provided a truly exceptional forum for industry professionals to interact and do business. There was a nice blend of old school and new school hempsters participating in panels and presentations, exhibiting, networking, and having fun. The way it should be.

The Road to NoCo begins early October with the launch of sponsor and exhibitor registration.  We’re truly excited for NoCo4 which takes place again in Loveland at The Ranch Events complex on March 31-April 1, 2017.

Moving on, Friday October 14th we celebrate with the 3rd annual Hemp Harvest Party happening at Globe Hall in Denver. This is an industry focused networking party and concert, featuring great Colorado acts including the Taylor Scott Band with special guest Dave Beegle, Rob Drabkin and Rob Trueblood.  We pay homage to hemp farmers around the state and country for the work and progress they’ve done throughout the 2016 growing season.

Late October brings us to the 3rd Annual Colorado Hemp Symposium and Legislative Workshop on October 26th in Loveland.  This event is hosted by Congressman Jared Polis and more information can be found at Here.

In November we head on the road to Adams State University in Alamosa for the inaugural San Luis Valley (SLV) Hemp Symposium taking place on Saturday November 5th. This is a smaller trade show and conference that will feature 25-35 hemp companies with the educational LET’S TALK HEMP sessions going on throughout the day. Please contact us if you are interested in joining us. More information on this event can be found at www.slvhempsymposium.com.

That’s it for now. I hope to start blogging a little more frequently going forward and share information that seems to get lost along the way. Feel free to reach out to me at hemp@coloradohempcompany.com with any comments, thoughts, or blog topic suggestions.  Thanks for reading.

    30 Days ‘til Showtime

    by Morris Beegle
Hello my fellow Hempsters, advocates, friends and peers. I am writing this right after our 18-person Team NoCo meeting from Expo Headquarters in Loveland. We are fervently working in all areas to present a hemp-centric experience like nothing you’ve seen before. For those of you who were with us last year, that was a small taste of what NoCo3 and the 2016 Expo and Conference will be like this go around.

As of today, March 2nd, #NoCoHempExpo is 30 Days ‘til show time, and we have assembled nearly double the sponsor, exhibitor and donor participants from 2015. This reflects the hard work and growth of the young hemp industry:  All of our dreams about the future economy and society have a real chance of coming true. Attendees will learn about hemp’s possibilities new and old, from farming to tomorrow’s energy.

In addition to the fantastic companies who have jumped on board to make this a one of a kind showcase of industrial and nutritional hemp products and services, NoCo3 features an astonishing lineup of speakers, panelists, and educators gearing up for an exciting two days of insight, conversation, and engaging learning opportunities. Yes, this is the first investment summit solely focused on industrial hemp. Moving forward, our goal is to continue to provide these amazing opportunities year round to companies deserving of funding and capital.

2016 is the year to step it up a notch, collaborate, unify, and put an end to the outdated, unfounded, regressive stereotypes that surround industrial hemp. The time is now to join forces and make a stand.

Today we are pleased to announce our 100+ exhibitors along with a partial list of our speakers and presenters. As we finalize the panels and specific topics over the next two weeks, we will reveal the full programming schedule which consists of global experts and thought leaders who will discussing everything from farming, equipment, processing, seeds, breeding, genetics, science, innovation, legislation, insurance, banking, infrastructure, economies of scale, product development, delivery channels, the future of hemp, and so much more.

I am extremely grateful for the talented and dedicated team that has come together for this year’s expo. Lizzy Knight, Hunter Buffington, Chris Wogan, Preston Whitfield, Dave Smith, Lori Buderus, Kristen Kunau, Rachel Jackson, Abbie Marks, Ben Wright, Doug Fine, Tim Gordon, Sean Murphy, Zev Paiss, David Maddalena, Summer Star-Haeske, Debby West, Kevin Buecher, Brad Shannon, Jena McGarrahan, Tony Buderus, Alexa Vasquez, Thomas Ivory Jr., Kirstin Bohnert, Alyssa Erickson, Elliott Shope and the dozens of volunteers coming on board this month.
